Living a life of sin

The witness describes repeatedly giving in to alcohol, pornography, overeating, and apathy. After turning to prayer, reading the Bible, and trusting God, they experienced growing self‑control and changed desires: getting up to exercise, losing interest in drinking, reduced sexual temptation, and less pull toward sweets. They thank Jesus and rely on daily prayer, asking the Holy Spirit for help when they feel weak.

Before Christ

I constantly gave in to temptation and couldn’t stop the urges to drink alcohol, watch porn, binge eat junk food, or be lazy.

How Christ drew them

I began praying, reading the Bible, and putting my faith in God, asking Jesus and the Holy Spirit to help me when I waver.

What changed

God transformed my habits and desires: it became easier to wake up and go to the gym, drinking after work lost its appeal, sexual and porn urges became more manageable, and the pull toward sweets weakened. I give thanks to Jesus and keep praying daily for help.

Scripture

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.— 2 Timothy 1:7, BSB

The Gospel

They point to Jesus as the one who loves them and died for their sins, and they are experiencing new desires and growing self‑control by His grace as they rely on Him in prayer.
